Okay when I purchased my tractor ten years ago, I knew next to nothing. I now have over 600 hours on it and a lot more experience. I was sold the idea that I would probably need weight to balance the loader up front, however the cab itself is 600 plus pounds. The deal is now I am see rusting on the rim and would like to get rid of the fluid and restore the rims and am looking for suggestions.

thanks

When ever I'm lifting something heavier with my front end loader I have a weight that I hang on the three point hitch. For lighter loads I don't bother. There are many threads in the forums here about ballast boxes etc.

Are you asking for suggestions on how to remove the fluid? Restore the rims?

I can understand wanting to get rid of the calcium in your tires,
but are you going to replace it with bolt on weights or beet juice or ?

As far as removing your calcium it is not real difficult.
I'd start with a getting a tire liquid fill valve, and a cheap pump maybe one of the Flexible Impeller Pumps.
Aquire a couple of plastic barrels to hold the old calcuim.
Install the liquid valve and a hose.
Roll the tractor till the valve stem is at it's lowest point and start filling the barrel.
Once all has flown out by the tire pressure you have several options on getting the rest out;
You can add air and repeat letting the air push the liquid out,
this will work except for the last few gallons.
Or if you have enough elevation change once you get flow established with a hose long enough to get to an elevation which would allow siphoning the fluid out you can get almost all of the fluid out.
A pump connected to the line leaving the tire can suck almost all the liquid out by collapsing the tube.

Then it's just a matter of breaking down the tire an tube and rim and reconditioning the rim.

Well, you have little choice but to remove tires and then to clean thoroughly any rust etc.

If possible sand blasting would be the most thorough followed by a quality prime and enamel.

Was thinking about having the dealer do the work, but suggestions are welcome. I generally have something on three point, snow blower, backhoe and such don稚 need the weight and rust with the weight of cab.

Why not just add stabilizer to the calcium like is done wid plate bottom ice cream trucks and trailers? If no tubes in tires whoever loaded dem should have stabilized to begin with.

Having a dealer do the emptying and clean up and refinishing the rims will likely be very expensive.
I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't buy new rims for the same or less money.

I would us the old calcium for dust control on gravel/dirt roadways and parking.

Any suggestions on how to get tires off the rims and back on?
