WANT RAIN?

He must be spreading it around, because we got it last night and the night before. So much so, I am worried that the ducks are going to return to my lawn. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Doug,

I'm probably less than 50 miles east of you and the NWS says that we're 75% over normal on precipitation for the year to date.

It's wet here as well Junkman - It's been a good test of the new driveway I put in. rior to the new install, if it rained like it has this week we'd have a small pond in front of the garage, sometimes running into the garage. Now if I only could get out there and fix the rest of the yard.

We (and Frank) have been getting the nasty storms coming out of the mid-west.... although without all the wind and tornadoes. Yesterday was the first day of sun /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif (instead of liquid sunshine) in a week. But you never get what you really want. Several weeks ago I was planting 200 raspberries and all we had was warm, dry, sunny days. Once I got them in the ground, the rain started. Now I have 1000 balsam firs sitting in the barn which I can't plant ... except in the mud. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Yeah, Frank, it's been pretty wet here in northern Vermont as well. Only a couple of times where the heavens opened and dumped buckets on us, but the steady soaking stuff makes chores a challenge at times. Can't mow, and the sheep aren't keeping up. Hate using the chainsaw when the footing is slick. Guess I could always add another breaker in the garage and wire some new section just for the practice! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

that ain't going to work /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif mud makes for lousy planting. i was lucky enough not to get the stuff i want to plant , will wait till it dries out so i can work the ground.

Jim ... that's whats so strange. My immediate locale has seem to slip through the precip cracks. My sump pump has been on since early march and the puddles in the drive have dried TWICE.

Strange.

Same here in western ny. get 1 or 2 days of no rain, to wet to do anything then it pours for a day or so and just adds water to the top of the ground. can't get to anything, without traring up the yard and grounds, would just creat more work in the long run. /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
