Re: Want to make sure I\'m making the right decision

John, all your mathmatical calculations left out the most important factors. That 7800 will be more comfortable and more fun so the time spent will seem even less than the actual time, so I figure you've got to cut your final answer in half. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Re: Want to make sure I\'m making the right decisio

Good numbers, John, but doesn't it assume that he has the option to go 4.25 MPH on his garden tractor? Unless you've got very smooth land, you just can't stand the pounding you get running those small tires over the bumps. Having made the same jump myself (50" Craftsman to a NH TC33D w/60" brush hog) I can say that the time saved was dramatic. I've got some rough ground, but the larger wheels of the tractor make the ride a lot smoother (not to mention a much nicer seat), so I can go significantly faster without bouncing the fillings out of my teeth.

Now-using two Garden tractors, wife on new one, him on old one , both going 4.25 mph to average 3.5 acres per hour… taking 1 hr. 45 min. for 6 acres…

Done that before. Felt kind of funny, kind of like those swimmers. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

The ultimate option is have the wife drive the Garden Tractor and him drive the brand new Kubota B7800

AHHHHHH!! Thats more like it. I will try to use that one. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Ahhhh... now we find the secret of success... /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Even a super fast ZTR mower needs a semi-smooth surface to maintain speed... no matter how fast the machine is capable of traveling... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: Want to make sure I\'m making the right decision

As you all can see, I don't power up my computer on a daily basis. I would like to take the time to thank you all for your replies. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Now let me make you all envious. When the hydraulics on the old Ford started acting up, my wife suggested I look at getting a newer, thus more dependable, tractor. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif Now to make things even better, she enjoys mowing the "lawn" on "HER" Craftsman Garden Tractor /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Now we will both be mowing at the same time, just as John had said, her on the Garden Tractor (cutting around trees) and ME /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif on the B7800 pulling the finishing mower.

To make this all even better, after reading ya'lls replies, she TOLD me to start saving money for the 72" mmm /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

BUt my original question was concerning the pricing/value I have been quoted. After reading your replies, I feel OK about the deal (not the best but not being robbed). The dealer here in New Port News VA quoted me $2,600 on a new 72" mmm. This does seem a little high to me.

Again, Thanks for all your responses.
