I don't know if there is such a thing, and I don't know what you'd call it. But, what I'm wanting is a 3PT mounted plate, with PTO shaft running to a gear box with a 1:6 speed multiplier. PTO turns @ 540, output shaft would turn at around 3600 RPM -- same as a Briggs small engine. The shaft would come out of a mounting plate -- same as a Briggs.

Onto this shaft, it should be easy to mount a power washer, air compressor, water pump, or generator. Granted, getting the first setup going would be costly, but as more accessories are used, the cost would go down.

Does anyone make such a thing?

I think this would better be accomplished with hydraulics

Shouldn't be a problem mounting speed increaser to 3pt, but mounting different driven devices could be. I'd use a 3pt platform with vertical mount for increaser and bolt driven device to platform. Could have different slots on platform for different devices.

I've been looking in industrial supply catalogues, like Northern tools, etc... Various pumps, hydro units, etc... are usually made to fit a keyed 1in shaft, like that found on a Briggs 5-8 HP engine. Some require the engine to have a 4in bolt mount. There are couplers, and so on that mate different shaft requirements together.

That's the type of mount / keyed shaft that I think this should be designed with.

My tractor doesn't have hydraulics, so PTO is what I thought of first. I think a shaft drive out to a shaft in a pillow block bearing. Then the shaft drives a step UP pulley (1:6) to another shaft -- which passes thru a faceplate. All this could be mounted on a sturdy base between the lower swing arms.

do what us Missisippi HillBillys do to increas speads. Take a manual transmission oout of a small car and run the pto into the output shaft then run the Pump or what have you off the input. Ive made several of these to run pumps and other tings on the back of a stick wood truck.

I thought you were talking about a speed increaser gear box. I guess you would need to know the most hp you would need and pick correct belts. Could be a troublesome setup. I've seen the tranny setup also. Research and find one with right ratio.

northern tools has a pro hyd pump that puts out over 20gpm. By using smaller hyd motors it would step up the rpm. Unless you have a place to pick up used hyd parts, I think it would be probably just as cheap to buy an aircompressor, pressure washer and and other tools as need, attach a 3pt to it, or use a 3pt forklift to move them around. It would also save on tractor wear.

What about the gearboxes you see mounted to ptogensets.. like northern has. I'd always assumed those were 3600 rpm heads, and the gearbox did the 'job'.

Perhaps this unit is available seperately. It would have the male pto stub on it, for easy of tractor connection.. and I'm guessing it would have a female shaft receptical.. to accept items with keyed shafts. At that point it wouldn't be hard to go male with a coupler.. etc. ( might even use a pillow block in the line if needed. ).
