Tiller Wanting a Rotary Tiller.......

If you want a well made, orange, tiller, at a low price, I would recommend a CCM. I have had one for 2.5 years and wouldn't hesitate to buy another. They are gear drive, have a slip clutch, and their fit and finish is better than the KK brand that my local TSC store carries.

I'll attach a picture of the tiller on the tractor.

Thanks for the info.,any more web addresses for tillers? What should I look for in a rotary tiller? I was told to make sure it had a slip clutch. What exactly is that?
Donny

Slip clutch is definitely good, also look for one with 6 tines per flange. I have a 48" with 4 tines and was working in the same field with a tiller with 6 tines, in one pass there was a notable difference in the finish between the two tillers, if I ever have to get another tiller, it will have 6 tines per flange, in plowed ground, they till the ground a lot finer in a single pass, I would have to make two passes with my 4 tine per flange tiller. I am satisfied with my tiller and had I not used them side by side, I would never known how much difference between the two.

I am looking for a 4' Rotary Tiller and would like to have an Orange one to match my tractor and was wondering what were my choices, and about what kind of prices are on new ones? What other ones is out there that are good brands.
Donny

I couldn't justify the cost of a new tiller, so last August I picked up a pre-owned Yanmar RS1200 rototiller (48" wide) for $300 from my local grey market tractor guy. Added a $100 Weasler slip clutch from www.agpartz.com since I couldn't find any indication of a shear pin on the tiller. Built a gantry-type dolly out of pipe fittings so I could move it around for hitching and unhitching.
