warranty service at non-sale dealer

My local Kubota dealer, didn't say they would charge me for warranty work. The salesman did try to pressure me into paying his higher price, by letting me know that they take care of the people that buy equipment from them, first. If I had a warranty issue and did not purchase it from them, they would get to it, whenever they got ready to do it.

I don't like it, but that is just the nature of the beast. Sad to say, but even if they had competitive prices, I probably still would not purchase from them, I don't care for that kind of attitude or pressure.

I would not buy from them. If they can do that to you before you buy, imagine what they will do to you after you buy. No reason to think they will be better to you later. Only worse.

Many times the sales department is in a different world from the service/parts department.

My local dealer (who rarely stocks small tractors and knows little about them when they do and is not even close to being competitive price wise) has told me they do not do warranty work on tractors bought elsewhere. This must be widely known because I’ve not only heard it from two salesmen there but from two competing dealers as well. One said they might be forced to do it but it will sit a long time before they get to it. Although they are over priced and have minimal product knowledge and no CUT stock, they certainly are quick to point out how many people they have turned in for buying out of state and not paying tax. If these guys were price competitive and spent as much time learning product rather than finding who bought what where....maybe they wouldn’t have to act like gossipy little old ladies turning in people for taxes, maybe people would buy from them. Probably why i never see B or BX Kubota’s in my area.

Good grief-the silly behavior described above is hopefully rare amongst dealers and would not endear them to anyone thus hurting their business. I would guess that tractor customers in general are quite a perceptive consumer group.

I have spoken with several dealers recommended here and will have no problem getting my BX24 from one of them-just as soon as I find a trailer.

Thanks again
