Warranty/ Service Calls

I've never paid for service calls, but my dealer is 10 minutes away. In fact, on one occasion they had to haul the tractor to the shop for warranty repairs, free of charge to me. To replace a linkage... ask if they can drop in on the return from a job in your area. Paying milage for a 5 minute job seems a bit much if they're already nearby.

I have had to pay for transportation on all warranty work on tractors, with the exception of that I did myself after being furnished the parts, or the dealer was in the area and stopped by.

Now if I understand what the poster, who posted this information said, the unit was delivered with the damage done. This to me is over the top by this dealer.

That's what I got from it too. Bad Dealer prep.

My dealer 103 miles one way from me came up twice for warranty issues. He phoned first and arrived right on time.

I bought the tractor and Kioti side by side utv from the same dealer. Wednesday afternoon, he came and picked up the utv (leaking cv joint) and brought it back Friday afternoon. (he thought I might need it on the weekend)

I gave him the 50 hour service (oil n filters) for $100. Delivery of $65 each way was scratched out on the bill. I'm 45 miles from him. I called him this morning to say thanks. He said "tell all your friends", so...

If it wasn't right from the get go it is totally unreasonable to pay for hauling it in. They must be doing very well for themselves if they don't need your repeat business the next time you want to buy something.

My dealer is only 5 minutes or so from me (I know that's pretty close but still) he has never charged a dime for hauling my tractor or RTV, even after the warranty had long since expired.

Recently I thought the RTV had a strange noise in the rear end and needed u joints. He came and got it, two mechanics drove it, looked it over good and said there was no need for u joints at this time. I could tell they'd even had the rear wheels off because of the socket marks in the dust on the wheel bolts. The next day when I was there I asked for the bill and he said "no charge". He could have easily charged me for hauling it and an hour of shop time or unnecessarily replaced the u joints for even more money.

Thanks Every one for the info;
I would almost prefer to replace the linkage myself. I just am pressed for time, (like all of us) and didn't feel right about having to repair a 3 week old machine.
I am going to wait to see what the dealer does for me, and if I have to replace the part myself, I won.t feel too 'put out'. I will report soon.
Thanks for all the responses. It is good to know there is so much help out there when (if) I have a serious problem in the future,
Have to get out there and blow some more snow. It may be a bit of a work-out for the tractor, feels wet and heavy this morning. Peter

I don't think any dealers would be put off by you doing your own repair and them furnish the part especially on something as simple as linkage. Possibly the linkage was bent loading and unloading and if hauled to the shop, it could come back the same way, so fix it your self. By the way, can the linkage be straightened, if so just straighten it and go.

HOLY KUBOTA!
Gary in Arkansas, I think my brain froze, I looked at the parts book, both ends of linkage are connected to other linkages, so I pulled it straight with some careful hand pressure. Looks perfect, feels perfect. Going for a test run now, and will report back. Will post before and after pictures soon.
Thanks so much,......I still think that AUX Valve lever is too long. PS

I still think that AUX Valve lever is too long. PS

I've altered quite a few of the controls on my L3400.. shortened the joystick lever about 6 inches to keep it from hooking my coat in winter, took some length out of the shift lever for better access wearing boots, trimmed the turn indicator lever, etc.
