Was Kioti ever made by Kubota?

No love lost between the koreans and the Japanese.

The Japanese colonized Korea (1910-1945) and treated the Koreans rather harshly, forced labor, sex slaves etc. The colonization of Korea by the Japanese ended when Japan surrendured to US.
Could there have been Japanese involvement in Korean industry during the period prior to 1945, yes. Could that involvement helped spawn Kioti, maybe.
Lots of times we in America see the Japanese and Koreans as very similar people and in many respects they are, but ask a Korean and you will get a very different response. Could there be a link between Kioti and Kubota? Yeah, there could be, but I doubt it.
I am surprised no one has contacted Kioti HQ personally and gotten an answer to this question.

I had contacted Kioti long ago and they denied any relationship to Kuobta at any time.

In the past it was very popular for a Japanese Company to sell their outdated tooling to companies in Korea or China. I've seen evidence of this in my many trips to visit factories in China and Korea. The legend of Kiotis springing up from Kubota tooling could very well be true.

Actually, I hear the real story is that Daedong has been making Kubotas for years, and finally started marketing them under their own name. That's why Kubota is so upset.

Starting rumors is so easy, which was my real point. Just like the nonsense about Kioti using old worn out tooling from Kubota, and other stuff that you have been battling lately. It's inappropriate to post conjecture as if it was fact. If people want to guess at something, and clearly say so, well that’s one thing, but it’s tiresome when old rumors that have no basis in fact keep on coming up. It elevates the “noise” level, and makes it harder for people to learn the real facts.

Honestly, I could give two diddles if Kioti has had any ties to kubota or not, PERIOD! I chose the Kioti over the Kubota and that's why I bought my CK20.

My (AMERICAN) MERCURY VILLAGER MINI VAN has to be looked up under NISSAN for any parts/repairs/computer diagnostics that it may need. Why, because it IS a NISSAN. Do I really care, NOPE. 148,000+ miles and running like new.

Considering it was you, who seems very well based in reality, I thought that's where you were coming from, but I wanted to be sure.
I couldn't imagine you believing that story, but one never knows! John
