My FIL came to visit one year, and offered to mow for me,, using an old 14HP Kohler powered Cub Cadet,,

He ran out the first tank of gas, then accidentally filled it with kerosene,,,

There was enough gas in the carb to restart the engine, and he mowed the pasture with the entire tank of kerosene.

He stopped for a sandwich, the tractor would not restart,,,
THEN, I had to drain the kerosene and refill with gas,, it started right again,,,

The kerosene did not seem to damage anything,, in probably 2 hours or more of mowing,,, :D

Several years ago was stopping at a N.Mex. truck stop and one day a large sign that the Diesel fuel contained a gas mix. Due to mixed lines from truck unloading .
The 18 whl. drivers still filled there tanks and the staton owner said no one had reported any problems.
Also in the army we used international engines the startted on gas then switched to diesel under load .generating power for the Radar.
Should the gas side of engine fail to start a small metal cup of gas in the air intake fires the diesel engine and seemed to be no problems .

Sold a 2500 Dodge diesel to friend along with camper. and close to 2 years of driving enjoying the truck stopped in Mississippi truck stop and the pump nozzle to large for his tank. but there was a small line and and thought is was for diesel but added 30 gal of DEF to his diesel tank.
Engine died with in 25 feet from pump. Dodge dealer ship said $15,000 to repair. total engine rebuild required.

insurance gave him enough to buy a older truck to get the camper home.

Yellow and red containers sound great but use No Spill brand and have only seen them in red. Really like their spouts with valve.

I have yellow No-Spill cans for my Diesel, red for gas. I forget if I got them at Northern or Fleet Farm.

"How do you get poop out of down?" First off - so far, I've never had to try. Secondly - some down garments are machine washable. Ex - Eddie Bauer. Others have to be taken to the "cleaners". I found that moose blood stains will not "machine wash" out. Should have taken them to a cleaner operation.

When I wore my EB down pants, jacket, gloves all winter - I machine washed them all in the spring. Took a loooong time for them to dry. Several times during this "drying cycle" I would put them in the clothes dryer. Run the dryer with no heat. It was just to re-fluff the down.

I bought the EB down garments - jacket, pants, gloves - in 1965. Wore them in the winter, every year, til we left AK in '82. Still wear the down if I'm stupid enough to go out in really cold conditions around here.

Minus a few stains - moose blood & grease - they are still as good as the day they were purchased. Stuff just isn't made like that anymore.
