Wash and WAX???????

Do you garage your tractor all winter. I don't plan on garaging my Jezebel. Should I cover her or do anything differntly? I plan on using her to plow the driveway so I will use her from time to time esp if we have a winter like the last one.

But, here in mosquito-ville you do anything you can. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif I also armour-all {spelling?} the tires as have been in a lot of mud the last couple of weeks. Couldn't stop myself and wait until the fields dried up. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

You know I used to put Armor-all on my tires (I don't that spelling is right either /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif), until my brother pointed out that the stuff attracts dirt, and turns the tires brown. He was using some clear stuff from turtle-wax (Clear Guard? not sure...).

However, these days I use some stuff called "No Touch" on the tires. Way easy! Spray it on, and walk away. Well, not quite; use a towel (or whatever) to wipe the no touch off the rims, then walk away. When the stuff dries, tires will be shiny & clean (with no residue).

Heck yes I wash and wax my tractor. If you are going to impress the yuppies amongst the tractor crowd then you had better have the cleanest tractor for miles around. I usually just hose it down after disking but I give it a soap and water wash every couple of months. A clean machine not only looks good but reduces wear and tear due to dirt and allows you to see potential trouble spots because they aren't protected by an inch of dirt. Besides, when you spend that much money on a vehicle or tool what do you care what other people think of how you treat your investment? Keep it clean.

jason: there ain't nothing wrong with washing and waxing the tractor. i keep carolina(my b2400) clean and shiny. i get enjoyment from it and it helps to spot problems sooner. it is a tractor,so i don't mind getting her dirty, but cleaning every so often ain't a bad idea./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif they can laugh all they want to.
