The washer is 4 years old. I checked and all four feet are securely down and the washer sitting square on the floor and is level. Any other thoughts?

Interesting site you recommended. And with a striking resemblance to the TBN site. I wonder if there is any connection or maybe just similar software?

Mine was an Admiral but, I wonder if they shared the same manufacturer. The straps at the top sound plausible, I never thought to look, although the wash tub always stopped, leaning in the same out of balance location. It makes that theory more likely. If I had looked up top I might have saved a few $.

Pineridge,

Is the floor itself pretty solid and rigid? I once had a wsaher on a floor that was a bit "soft" where the washer feet sat and it wanted to walk around all the time. In general, washers seem to work better on really solid surfaces, like the concrete slab mine is on now. They will eventually soften up any wood floor they are on, especially if there is ever any water spilled.

Pine, I think tc35dforme is right on. I had a similar problem with mine a few years ago and one of the 4 'dogbone' style rubber restraint straps had come loose. After securing the strap the problem was fixed.

Well I may have fixed the washer problem although I don't know how I did it.

I moved it away from the wall to disconnect the water hoses and drain line. In the process of moving the washer I tipped it forward and once I got it moved out away from the wall I put my level on it. It was level so I reconnected the water hoses and the drain and had the wife run 3 loads through the machine.

It ran without all the usual noise. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I suspect that the washer was not level when it was in its original resting spot. I also suspect that when I leaned it forward to disconnect hoses and move it out from the wall that the rear automatic leveling legs did what they were supposed to do. When I put the level on it it was level but that was after I moved it.

I'm almost afraid to put the front cover back on it and move it back to the spot where it was. I'll give it a go tomorrow, tonight I'm surfing TBN.

Thanks for the help guys.

Have you looked for the 4 legged rag mop that runs around the house???? He might have been stuck in the bottom of the tub.... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
