They each have a use before date on the applicator. As I recall, shelf life is about six months from production, but check the applicator.

We had our first severe bee sting reaction yesterday afternoon. Forty five year old man, epi pen expired by several months, severe respiratory distress. Had to fly him off to Seattle.

I buy a new epipen every two years. If you look around you can find a new one with an 18 month expiry date. I buy it in April/May and keep it for two summers. I have never had to use it and hope I don't. In Onatrio you can purchase them without a scrip. Counter price is $109 CAD ($87US) without scrip and $60 ($48US) plus dispensing fee with a scrip.
