I expected such a response.
When there is a car coming from behind, I can hear it, and I get in the grass (I have rolled ankles as a result but that's how it goes). I also typically look over my shoulder behind me when there is an oncoming car to make sure they have room to inch over. I don't need much room.
When there is not someone coming, I am running on the edge of the road where the grass and pavement meet. And yes, I do have a right to be there.
Sometimes you can make eye contact with a driver and see that it was deliberate. The "people who suck" see you, grin, and veer towards you for no reason. Happens more often than you think (I assume you don't run or cycle).
You didn't care to know all that though, you're just probably one of the folks who enjoys trying to see if you can take heads off with side view mirrors...
Im a driver too, so I know what it's like. I know when people can and cannot move over. And, as a driver, I accommodate pedestrians, cyclists, etc.
By no means am I just "refusing to look at another perspective" or whatever nonsense you said.
