Didn't look bad either.

If you mean stop the log then you have to consider the size of the log!
Haven't had any thing fall back on my tractor.
What are those short forks in your bucket made from? They almost look like cutter blades.

They are truck springs. each one is fastened by two bolts. There is a backing plate on the bottom of the bucket.

ABS pipe cement is your friend in repairing JD plastic.
Use fiberglass cloth on the backside, let it dry overnight before putting any stress on the part.

I had a crack in my Femco canopy, which is ABS. I used the ABS pipe dope with an artist's brush to carefully add the adhesive to the cracked surface, then clamped it. The crack is nearly invisible and so far, has held up well.

Years ago, a neighbor was lifting steel roofing with his FEL.
He got out of the way before one sheet slid through where his neck HAD been. Lucky man but he won't do that again, I bet.
