That little sucker of a pocket has always been too small and tight for my fingers!

For the most part, from what I've found, there's two explanations:

1. Watch pocket.
2. Coin pocket, lighter pocket, small knife pocket, a place to keep small items from moving around in the larger pocket.

I use it for my watch. Keeps car keys from scratching it.

Originally designed for pocket watch but wrist watches kind of killed them. One purported use is a condom holder.

I use mine for a pocketknife but added a short cord in order to retrieve it easily as I have big fingers.

My grandfather had a couple of watch chains. They use to be a fashion accessory.

Okay I tried using my watch pocket on my Carhartt jeans this morning, and the only thing I accomplished was to rip a fairly new scab off of the knuckle of my pointer finger. :thumbdown:

It is useless IMO. But it did cause me to find my stash of bandaids in my shop! :thumbsup:

It happens to be the perfect size for my car fob. It (the fob) has a key ring (but no keys) and I can easily slide one finger in, hook the key ring and extract the fob.

When the fob is simply in my pocket it gets buttons pushed by other stuff, or even just kneeling.

If wearing a pocketwatch on a chain, it goes in my left vest pocket. Have never carried a watch in a jeans watch pocket.
