We just cleaned out the water heater. It's been about 5 years and there was a lot calcium/lime in the bottom. Can I dump it in the garden and till it in? Is it good for the garden or will it harm it?

I don't know whether it will help the garden, but I sure don't think it will hurt it any.

The addition of lime and calcium is a common practice, however the concentrations are readily known and are uniform in size. I'm not certain of the downside of too much calcium or lime?
