Water in hydraulic reservoir?

Look for a split boot on shifter levels or one out of place. Water will easy run down a lever. After your tractor has set for a couple of days pull the drain plug just enough to let the fluid drip if possible. Water is heavier and it should come out first. If there is water in there often you can drain it off that way and often keep the separated oil.
Oh, the trap, sure it does not leak? Some will as they age.
I think I mentioned in a previous post that all my connections to the hydraulic system/reservoir that I can see are not on a horizontal plane. They are connected through the vertical side of the hydraulic case. My go pedal, range shifter and “clutch” are those things. No top connected floor shifter with a boot.
When I drained the fluid the first time there was no pooling water that came out first.

If a open vent, cap, void is where water can accumulate, the water will be sucked right in with the temperature changes.
