My Grandparents lived on a farm, and they got their water from a dug well, or cistern, that was filled by rainwater from the roof of the house. The only treatment was a charcoal filter between the roof and the well. The water was retrieved with an apparatus that had a series of small buckets on a chain, and turned by a hand crank. I can't recall what they called it though.

Sanitary wise, it left something to be desired. I cleaned it out once, and it wasn't pleasant.

We have a well that has not been used for maybe 50 years except to haul water to the garden but we do have a block cistern under the porch/kitchen area which we use for everything including drinking.
I guess I'm old fashioned since we have no filter, no uv or any other system but it has a block wall that acts like a filter between the intake and the suction side.
I am considering hooking up to the well to drain the cistern and do some maintenance on the outside walls.

Dat PVC contraption called a 'theif'. Little different version gets dropped in tank to pull sample of what's on bottom of tank to check for stratification.
You gonna use 1 best if you rig a pully overhead so you can just swing theif to side over bucket and poke ball up wid finger to drain into bucket. Dat way you can put top on theif and keep rust from casing from fallin in when pullin up & down. 70 feet to water you gonna grow muscles pullin up. Don't need to grow extra tippin into bucket.

Far as sanitizing water, simple pond still made from plastic sheet lets free sunlight distill de water for you. Same thing been done on ships and liferafts for hundreds of years to get drinkin water from ocean water.

Dese guys make nice pump, but I ain't real thrilled bout de plastic handle or plastic pipe pump rod.

De deep well version work good for you since it really 2 pumps in tandem.
Price don't thrill me tho. Little effort you can probably duplicate it for under $200
