Mark,
Those are some fine looking garden rows. It looks like you also have another garden to the right in the second photo. Do you grow produce to sell?

Thank you, Herkypilot. Yes. We started out growing thornless blackberries. The picture shows the original row. We now have 4 times the canes, and able to expand a little every year. We also grow broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yellow squash, butternut squash, spaghetti squash, okra, snow peas, and green beans. Last year we started a couple of rows of raspberries. Just before winter started, I plowed, disced, and planted rye for a plowdown in another plot behind and to the right of the gardens in the pictures. Our plan for this year is to begin Christmas tree production on 2 acres in the very back of that property. It's still in the research/planning stages. Mark

My wife and I haven't decided what to do with our 26 acres yet. We have about 5 to 7 years to think about it and develop a plan before we are fully retired. Thanks for the reply.

Well, I hate to say it, but i cheat. I used to do hydroseeding and had 3 trucks with various size hydroseeders. When it came time to water the garden, I would just fill up one of the hydroseeders, grab the hose and empty the tank on the garden area. With my 600gal finn, I could fill the tank in 6 min with a 2in trash pump, from a creek. Drive to the garden and have it empty in about 6 more minutes. Hose would spray out about 100ft from nozzle. Added bonus was i could add some fert or lime to the mix and apply that as the same time as watering. I got out of the hydroseeding business about 6 years ago and sold all my equipment. Miss it every year during garden season. I have thought several times about just looking for a used jet agitated hydro seeder and buying it just for that purpose.

I like the drip irrigation
uses less water and gets it where it's needed
seems like you have the time to just drop it and let gravity do its thing
my :2cents:
