Wavering - green, orange and a 3 pt Snowblower!

OK, so I'm wavering here. I haven't pulled the trigger on the BX2200 yet and (silly me /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) I stopped by the local JD dealer and took a look at the 2210. The 2210 seems a bit more comfortable than the BX for my 6'3", 240lb frame. Price for the comparable products put the JD about $800 higher. I've pretty much decided on going the less expensive route and getting a rear snow blower for about a third of the price of the proprietary units in either green or orange. Any opinions on how the 2210 would handle a roughly 52" 3 pt. mount SB? Several guys using the orange alternative seem to be pleased with this option. Did anyone with a 2210 get to try this idea out this winter (which I hope ends soon /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif ).

I don't think your silly for checking out your other options. Both John Deere and Kubota are good tractors. I personally don't think one is any better than the other, but both being good.

You made the statement of liking the John Deere because it is just more comfortable for your larger frame. I am a larger person also. Over the years I have sacrificed comfort for money and for the most part have kicked myself for doing it. Eight Hundred is a lot of money but if you divide it out over the years you will have the tractor it is not so much. Everytime you get on or off the less comfortable one you will be reminded that you could have had a more comfortable one. Also along with that keep in mind with the rear snow blower you will constantly be looking back and the one with the more room will be nicer.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not in anyway bashing Kubota nor am I telling you John Deere is the only way to go. I just think that you are buying a tractor to make life easier and you might as well enjoy it. If you feel the Kubota will be more reliable and you like that dealer more than that is the way to go. But if you really like that John Deere because it is more comfortable I would be going back to the Deere dealer and tell him if he wants to make the sale he has to do better on his price. Also watch the availability of the John Deere. Some reports have said they are out of them until July sometime.

I am waiting in Indiana to be able to check out both the BX2200 and the JD2210. Both dealers are close and good. Have dealt with both, but, either have the tractor in stock. A couple of weeks should tell. The price difference is nill. I am at 12,943 with FEL and 60" mmm for K and 62" for JD.
So I am going to pick the one that seems to feel the best and I am the most comfortable with, then try and bargain a little price.

I have a BX with a 54 inch Pronovost Puma 3 pt snowblower. BX had no problem with 2 feet + of snow this year. Do not forget to include some type of cab to go wth the blower. Snowblowing without a cab is not fun. Green or Orange will work fine with the 3 pt SB.

Nice lookin' unit there! Instead of a cab, you could always use an old full-face motorcycle helmet. Might look a little goofy, but sure is a lot cheaper.

I have the same model blower. I guess I was lucky to get an orange one (I really couldn't care less about color).
