For me my tractor is a valuable tool and at times just a toy, as my wife says. I was waxing my tractor and buddy shows up and says why would you wax your tractor it's just going to get dirty. My answer was why do you wipe your arse it's just gonna get dirty. The day I bought mine it took three wax coats to get the green from coming off onto the rag, now it looks like the hood of all my cars, very nice quality paint. Here is my list of waxes, what do you use.

Groits garage 3 stage polish, first !
New finish wax on hood
Groits speed shine on everything else painted

Does other folks wax there tractors !
Post so I can show my buddy, he says I am the only person in the world.

I use John Deere quick shine detailer, followed up with their ultra gloss polishing wax - It leaves a great finish. That green paint sure looks good!

I blow mine off with the air hose when it gets too dusty. I have cleaned it up with a water hose a tiime or two. Once it was pretty dirty.....so I let it stand out in a driving rain to clean it up real good.

But wax?......no time for wax so far. Maybe if I was gonna sell it. Don't get me wrong....I have nothing against other folks waxing stuff.....just not very often for me. :)

(Sorry.....I'm in your buddies camp )

I use the Honda spray cleaner and polish now and then on the hood and fenders,

Another good 'detailer' is Pledge. Spray it on (after a good soap wash and rinse and dry) and wipe off with a polishing cloth.

I try to give a good cleaning/waxing at least once a year.
People can't believe how old they are. :)
I'd rather see my investment look like new, or close, than something neglected. Just me.

Waxing your tractor makes it much easier to clean, and I recommend everyone do it.

I don't wax mine simply for appearance sake. It is after all, a tool. I don't know of any folks that wax their wrenches. But regularly removing the dust/dirt/chaff et cetera saves a whole lotta degreasing down the line. That said, every spring and fall I do use a cleaner/wax - simply to rub out some of the lesser scratches from branches/bushes/etc

Yes, i regularly wash and wax it. I did the same with my last 14yo tractor, and it still looked great the day i sold it. Just cause you think of it as a tool...why let it look like a piece of crap.???

Used the Honda spray for years, great stuff but cheaper and even better try the speed shine from Groits garage, just bought a gallon and works great and smells even better. You can spray it on anything like the Honda stuff.
