Update...
We got the new disk. Looked just like the one we took out, except this one had linning on it and the spline/hub didn't wobble all around
This Saturday we started putting it back together. By Sat - game time (the Gator game
) we had the front and back bolted back together and some of the bracketing back on.
Sunday afternoon we finished putting all the rest on. To our surprise - I mean satisfaction - it started right up.
The new clutch works just fine.
BTW - we did find a broken clutch pedal return spring. Don't know if this was broke before we started or if we broke it when we split the tractor. However, i have been told by a friend who has been working on county vehichles (school busses, tractors and the like) that a broken return spring can lead to clutch burning with a diaphram clutch.
We made sure it has a good spring on it.
