My first question was "Why put in a well pit?". Put the pressure tank, pump controller etc. in the house or other all-season structure. Doesn't take that much room and then you have all the maintenance stuff right there where you can get at it. Poeple seem to be convinced that the controls and pressure tank just HAVE to be right at the well. They don't, they can even be a 1,000 feet or more away and function just fine.
Well pits are:
1. expensive to build,
2. usually very cramped and hard to work in.
3. Make no sense if an all weather structure is anywhare around with space for about a 3x3' area.
