We had a little bad weather yesterday

We had some scattered tornados across the southeast yesterday and more rain than I have seen in a longtime. My uncles farm got hit by a tornado yesterday that witnesses said never touched the ground. The attached picture is what is left of one of his barns. You can see the frame but the wind peeled all the tin off of it. The cotton pickers were undamaged. The picture isn't that great. I took it from the road this morning on the way to work.

We live about 2-3 miles southwest of his farm and the wind broke an old hollowed out oak tree in our front yard.

Now for all the rain we had. This picture was taken Monday May 5th of a drive way that I am building for our future house. It runs parallel to a creek for a short distance. The drive way is no where near completion. I had only built it up about 6 inches.

Now see if you find my drive way. It is about 3.5 feet below the water line.

My wife and I feel for you, Brent! Give me a good blizzard any day over storms like those that hit you, or the hurricanes in the SE, or the earthquakes out west! Hope you and yours are going okay.

Brent, I am in Atlanta and we had pretty much the same as you. My area had three tornadoes spotted but none touched down. We had 6" of rain in about 4 hours. Sure was a mess.

Looks like you may have to build that road up a bit more. At least you have had the chance to see the worst so you can plan for the future. Sorry about your Uncles barn. Farmers have a hard enough time as it is with out having to replace buildings.
