Weather underground alternative?

I use the National Weather Service for hyper-local weather - National Weather Service. Where I live has weather just different enough from the largest nearby cities that WU, etc., don't give me an accurate prediction in some cases. The NWS in my case has a closer station and provides a better prediction. You can find a map where you click on tor actual location, and get predictions and readout from their closest station. I still use WU and Wundermap for more info.

Weather Underground has been going downhill since IBM bought them.

Yes. WU keeps making the app worse and they claim ownership of data you upload to them.

We moved our personal weather station to the ambient weather network.

For forecasts I use the Carrot and National Wx apps.

My local TV station has a real good (weather only - separate from their TV app) app that I use on my smart phone (Android), with only one ad that loads at the onset. It's about the only app I use on the "phone". I rarely use my PC for weather info any more.

Most of our storms hit in the evening. We can watch them form and build up from the West side of Ft Worth, and head out way all day long.

I'm like you, my local news station has the best radar for my area. I don't use it on my phone because of all the adds they have, but on my home computer, it's my best option.

Yes, it's on it's scheduled for after 1pm today. Right now, it's still just outside DFW, and the radar is showing a lot of bright colors. Local news is saying 2 inches with flooding possible.

I'm home recovering from Covid, and debating on mowing the grass before it hits, and risking feeling worse afterwards, or just resting and mowing another day.

Oh man, not good do you have a basement or storm shelter?

I like the AccuWeather App for its radar, shows past and future for 2 hours each way, easy to zoom and seems pretty quick for refreshing.
