We've all been out on the back 40 and needed the weed whacker, the hog bar or some other tool. Well, I had these old gun holders in the garage, so I decided to put them to use.

here's where I started:

I copied the SMV sign bracket, backwards, (let me tell ya, that gave the old noodle a workout). Drilled a few holes, sprayed the new one, mounted the racks then put the brackets back on the ROPS and this is what I have:

I have to watch the clearance, I'm a little wider than before! And, I forgot to put the SMV sign back on so will need to figure out where to hang it now.

You can never have too many places to hold your stuff.

Good idea. But a word of caution, be careful getting too close to trees or fences with the weed eater, or you'll be buying a new one. Dont ask me how I know this.

Found that out early, not with the weedeater but the hog bar got attached to the trees and fences, luckily the rack is flexible enough that it just lets go before damaging anything.

why not hang it vertically from the top of the rops and a bungi?

I'd hate to have anything heavy hanging over my head by a bungi!

you use something like the above clamped to the top of the ROPS pointing to the back on the side, so it hangs just inside a wheel

this supports the weight of the timmer, you then retain it in the hook with a bungi. and or keep it from flopping around at the bottom.

That'd work, but I've had these gun racks for years and after moving them from state to state, I finally found a use for them.

So will your long gun also fit in there now?
