Here is what I did this weekend:

Tractortoolbox.jpg

I found the toolbox at NAPA. Had to move the safety triangle over a little bit.

What model is your tractor? I don't think that will work on my 4025 but I am going to check. You can never have to much tool box. Looks good.

How did you mount the tool box? I assume you drilled holes in the bottom of the box but what did you bolt it to on the tractor? Good idea I need extra space on the tractor to store sheer pins for my bush hog and two wrenches. The factory tool box on my 3323 is located near the ground under the motor and I don't trust it. Never used it in 3 years.

Model 3316. I mounted it between the back of the seat and the bracket for the safety triangle.

Don,

I just drilled holes on the top of the sheet metal behind the seat and attached with wingnuts. It only has two screws/wing nuts in the bottom, but I also bent the safety triangle bracket so it rides against the bottom giving some extra support.

You can never have too much storage for extra linch pins, etc. I also have a chain that I am going to keep in there if it fits. I'll have to try that tomorrow.

I squeezed a small tool box and cupholder behind the seat. I'm going for the color faded used toolbox look.:)

Doesn't stuff tend to fall out of your tool box with the opening on the side like that?

Now it just depends on what he has in it, maybe he only has rags.

I found a red tool box similiar to the type attached to the fenders of old Ford tractors at Atwoods Monday; it is larger though, about 18x5x5 with a hasp.

I plan to mount it like Montyhp's; except I will space the SMV sign to rear of the tractor and locate the hasp forward or the hinge against the back of the SMV sign. I can not move the SMV to the right side of the tractor as that is where my rear aux quick connects are.

I'll post some pictures when I get it done.

I have an old ammo box I'm planning to bolt to the right-side step on my 4110. I can't enter from that side anyway with the foot throttle and loader stick in the way.

I keep a pair of gloves, an adjustable wrench, screwdriver and some extra linch pins in a baggie. The gloves help to keep things from rattling around. With the latch on top I just open down the tool box lid and reach in and grab what I need. I'm actually more suprised on how dry things stay inside. My canopy must help with that.

all, these ideas sound great. it turns out the toolbox on mine is just the right size for my 10' drag chain in the bottom and my metric socket set and some spare linch pins up top in the tray.
