Weekend work, uh I mean fun

You're the first person that I've heard from that knows someone who does "odd" jobs for a municipality.

I was just wondering if you know any of the specifics about your relative's jobs. Does the City hire him on a job basis, or do they require a contract? How much insurance does the City require that he carry? I'm assuming this relative is in Michigan? Do you know what he charges for his services? What exactly are the kinds of jobs he does for the City?

I don't see him very often. He lives in the same town I do. The town I live in is pretty small. About 3000 people. The only thing I can answer is the last time I seen him (about a year ago) he was just finishing up doing backhoe work at the "new" high school. It was a huge renovation/modernization project. Also, a couple years ago when the city put in new water lines, they used him to dig in areas that the larger machines couldn't get too.
