weight of attachments??

Any of you real smart guys have any ideas on how someone could figure out how much an attachement weighs with out a drive over scale? I have made a cultipacker and just wondering how much it weighs? Also have and old 7ft (20x18) atlas disc that I would also like to know how much it weighs..

Got an I-Beam, a real heavy duty limb to hang it from and a 55 gal barrel? I'm thinking you could slap a balance together pretty quickly. Accuracy would depend on the care you take as you measure. Make an offering to Themis and trust in her counsel.

PS: Water weighs 8.35#/gal.

-Could tie a cable to it, put it over a pulley, and add weights to the other end until it lifts.

-Or, water weights 62.4 lbs per cubic foot. Put it on something that floats, find out how much water it displaces, add up the volume of water divide it by cubic feet and multiply that number by 62.4 should give you pound force.

I think you'll find that driving over a scale is the easiest and most practical way.

you could look up the weights. they may not be exactly the same, but close.

Great idea- I have a couple of 55gal drums that would work perfect on the cultipacker!! I knew someone was smarter than I-I-I-I.. :thumbsup:
