$700 is a VERY good deal!
BUY IT !!!!

it is a very good price, keep in mind the higher amperage's will require the 230V. and it's "MIG: Weld up to 5/16 in. mild or stainless steel or aluminum* up to 3/16 in." specs are good for most usage, you can't weld very thick steel or aluminum though..

Yup ......absolutely correct!
Not suitable for skyscraper or bridge beam welding.
I think OP stated he has never welded before.
Big steel is likely not on his horizon.

Well, the closest I've ever gotten to welding anything ever in my life..... is using a dollop of JB Weld...

Cripes... I'm leaving town on Friday too.

I've obviously got 110 covered but have something like a 50' roll of leftover 8-3 WG that I used to carry current over to a secondary panel in the garage. I've often wondered about using it to run a 220V to near the garage so I could use something like this or maybe plug in a generator (with requisite ...I forget what they're called, isolation panel)

Thanks for the comments!!!

Couple scenario's...

1. I have an industrial backhoe. Need to take steering cylinder off. The pin that holds cylinder on has a bolt that locks pin into place. The lock bolt has been sheared and can't be grabbed. I was thinking (and going to take to machinest friend) to have washer welded to bolt.... nut welded to washer so now we can try some leverage.

2. I have a 15' flexwing mower. It has the hand cranked stand that goes on the front of it so you can hold front up while putting it on/off. The mower never had a stand since my buying it. I had one welded on a year ago.... and over winter it snapped off (looks like they only tacked it on 4 corners). I want to weld another one of those on so I can remove and leave it standing.

Those are my immediate issues.... yeah, I could have them done for well under $700 but with the backhoe, tractor (we have three tractors here) several mowers, box blades, backhoe.... PLUS the "toy" factor..... I'm thinking over time, I might get to use it.

THIS IS THE TIME!
and ..... THAT IS A GOOD DEAL!
GET IT...before someone else does!

I have a Kubota L48 TLB, and two other tractors, plus other stuff too.
I am old, and rapidly becoming decrepit.
I have been retired for 20 years, and really don't NEED a welder either.
I bought the Hobart Handler 190 MIG (220V only) 2 years ago.

I like toys, and this is a sweet Mr. Fixit toy!

Worst case- Buy it, re-sell and put $400 in your pocket. That will pay to have your stuff fixed.

As someone who owns that model PowerMIG (original owner, bought new), I'd say yeah: ... for that price, if it's in the condition described, it would seem to be a good deal and would be a fine welder to learn on (I did)

FWIW, I've welded 1" plate with mine ... and also done ALU with the spool gun I have for it.

you can put any area on the CL map. I see 4 wheelers and Tractors on CL all the time for stupid low scammer prices.

/ Welder (value) question..... #13
If cared for, those name brand wlders will always hold their value and new ones will only get more expensive. NOT a bad thing to tie your money up in at all.

/ Welder (value) question..... #14
Insist on seeing it in person!!! CL is full of scams.

My favorite story was when the seller told me he had shipped the tractor to Portugal after starting the Ebay listing so it wasn't available to look at right now.

BUY IT... but see it first. I always do Craigslist deals buy/sell face to face.

They are a $1400-1500 unit new. If it really is new I would smell a rat in there somewhere till I put my eyeballs on it. $700 is what you would pay for a 10 yr old one well cared for. The 210 comes in several different config also. They run up to almost $2K in the multi-process models. Plan on a minimum 220V 30A circuit for good performance. On 110V you will probably be disappointed unless working all light gauge stuff. I believe the straight MIG will run SMAW also probably around 90A output max.

Waiting with interest. I have one with the spool gun option. $700 sounds too good to be true.

Yep! There is a guy around here putting up free canoes. He's taking an existing listing, photos and write up and changing the asking price to free. The location is some random local location. Don't know why.

EVERYONE wants a canoe. Bait and switch. REPLY and next thing you know you'll be making payment on a NEW BASS BOAT and Trailer. lol
