My big enjoyment is taking members like Furu and dragoneggs who are smarter asleep than I' am on my best day, and show them some little tricks about welding. To see the look on their faces when the lights come on, and they get it! That is all the enjoyment I need.

You repeat over and over the title of your thread but you are ignoring your first paragraph.

I suspect it's one of those situations where pros don't want the homeowner doing "their job". But it's NOT their job - it's NOT pro welding, it's just welding in a garage, it's making stuff, which people like to do."

That first paragraph set the tone by saying those dastardly welders are conspiring against you out of fear for their jobs. I'm guessing most of them wouldn't go hungry if those bread and butter push mower repair jobs stopped coming in to the shop. You started a negative thread and now you are surprised you got one?

oops yes I forgot about that :guilty::guilty: I guess because but I started a new thread that was neutral and got the same result. Old habits die hard. But they could "buck up" a little.

Well like I told you before. I use to live right down the road from you when I was a kid. But you weren't born yet!
Then in the 1980s I worked right between Oakley and Antioch. But then again you may not have been very old in the 80s.

Seems a little TOO EASY to do. Missing a secret handshake or something…..

I bet this wouldn't happen face to face its probably an internet thing. I'll post some more projects, see if I can wear them down. If forum members can someday post any pic and not get beatup that will be good.
