There isnt any better way to do it than weld it on like the very first pic. I might fuss with the paint grind to keep it real local, then sand it to blend and shoot some color back on it. Wouldnt ever know it wasnt factory. This is overhead, exact same weld,,,, not much for straight but smooth. Same thickness. The machine is a step unit, it could use a couple amps really.
