Welding suggestions on a broken hydrolic metal line.

Could it be that the pipe is deteriorating from the inside , and I should be looking at replacing the whole pipe system, I don't know the cost of it, but I guess I could inquire. Do you think it is possible.

Is it really an H fitting or did they braze it to the other tube to make it more secure? I would cut all that old crap off and couple on new pieces of tube. Machine shops have the couplers to hook the tubes together. You can use brazing rod or there are a lot of options with a little nickel or silver. This is an easy fix.

Yomax, you're right, it is two separate conduits welded together for strength, I believe.
As I can see , those two pipes are connected at both ends to hoses, ones going to the cylinder at the end of the hoe, and the other end it is hoses connected to the main hydrolic box, where all the hoses connects to.

What I did on one of my steel hyd. lines that wore a hole through it, was take the steel line off and use just the parts of it with the complex bends. I wouldn't have been able to use a hose the full length. I cut the good ends off the steel line and had a hyd. shop flare them to accept JIC fittings. Then I just used 2 hoses and a 90 deg. elbow to get the proper length and orientation. This was for the main hyd. line supplying the backhoe on my cat. It was fairly long and there's no way I could have even installed it without major, major disassembly. It has never gave me any problems since.

If there's roughness inside at the old repair it could be cavitation damage. If so there may be a good size patch of thin wall in that area.

Just to update , I welded the pinhole with acy/oxy or brazed it, not sure what to call it, had a few wet rags wrapped around the pipes like suggested, quickly touching the metal twice with my bronze rod , and no more leak.

first the line should come off to do it right and clean it out real good then grind off old weld and or braze from affected area plus some paint from around the area then re braze it that should do it the key is make sure area is clean before re working it

This was posted awhile ago, but thought I'd share my experience with this exact same part on my Case 580ck. I had several brazed repairs to the manifold on my machine and eventually, another leak. After several attempts to repair, I removed the whole piece, had it steamed out and brazed up the latest crack. Some months later, it was leaking again and I took the whole thing to a local hydraulics shop. The bends were too tight to make new tubes and after we had a look inside the tubes, discovered severe pitting. I took the shops advice and purchased a new Case replacement. End of leaks.
