welding ?

I agree with the previous post about prep grinding. I have a Lincoln mig and have become so acquainted my wife refers to it as my mistress now. You will be amazed at how soon you're going to be making good welds. Practice using the wire feed speed, the heat settings and watching your puddle on different materials and it is amazing the difference welding clean metal makes--so use that grinder to prep rust, paint, grease, oil etc and you'll be laying down professional looking beads in no time! Have fun!!

It is a milermatic 135 I am using .035 flux cored wire.
The only thing I can add to the information you have already received is to use .30 wire.
Welding really is fun. I've been welding for a little over a year and have only burned through once..................................each time I weld something. They tell me that I will improve with practice. I sure hope so. But, I'm still having fun.

You're right, it is fun! To avoid burn thru, just weld thicker stuff (chuckle!).
