I wish all of you guys lived closer. I've got a few PNW around and have never made the effort to stop in and say hello which is partly due to my work, and partly due to me not being as good a human as I could be.

I've moved started a new thread on the heating issue. And yes, a bit frustrated I bought into a used thermostat, but the new one is on the way, along with a nice clamping multimeter (found an amazon gift card from Christmas Woo Hoo....

The overheat is a weird thing. (I am not even sure if I am overheating, I am just getting a weird reading). I have never had an issue with my PT about getting warm. I mean I have worked it hard and got it up there, but this was quicker than normal (only an hour) and, well, it isn't like it used to be. I am just going to pull the filter. Oil is fresh enough. I doubt it is the filter.

As for the temp flow. If my fliter is giving me a very hot reading, I would think one side of my radiator would be nearly equal in temp, not nearly 90 degrees less. I guess it is possible the radiator is plugged internally but I would think I would be getting a high pressure reading if that was the case.

Coyote, thanks for your input. This machine does not have a water based engine cooling. It uses the engine oil to cool. But keep the ideas coming.

Thanks for the thanks; I had a sneaky suspicion that I might have been off base about water cooling, but I took a shot and missed.:confused3:
Glad to hear you're getting a DC ammeter; and I do tend to agree you have probably already solved your issue with breaker replacement and new temp sensor, when it arrives. Used ones can be innaccurate, thus misleading.
Post back results.

Thanks for buying the meter. Hopefully the problem was the breaker, but the meter has many uses such as checking you alternator output.
