After years of hauling yard clippings to the burn pile, I finally found a new method. Using 12x16 tarps filled with clippings, I tied the corners together with a 2' piece of electrical wire, and left them in the yard, and moved onto the next work area. Then when there were 2 tarps filled, I ran a rope under the electrical wire of one and then the other to make a sling. Then lower the backhoe bucket and hooked the sling onto it, and raised it. Then drove off to the pile. Easy! Here's a photo from behind.

Here's a closeup of the sling method from the front.

Pretty good idea as long as you keep on the straight and level. As I recall from your "barn" project you don't have much level land. I tried hauling off a tree in my backhoe bucket once. It was unstable enough to convince me not to try it again--but then I don't have any level land to drive on here. Be careful!

Well, you made through a winter with the closed up barn. Have any finished project pictures you'd be willing to share on your awesome barn?

Dave, No kidding about the level aspect -- I just stick to the driveway. If there's a hill, I can lower the BH and drag the tarps. As for the barn, I'll post a recent photo on that thread this week -- added a septic system finally (when the snow melted). But have started rebuilding the house (tore down the old one) so that's a major project.
