My kubota has a brake light in the dash, I just wish there was a 4wd light in the dash.

I had a friend who was "helping" me one day, he wanted to drive the 1989 J.D 2555 cab tractor I had, it was about a 1/4 of a mile and the brakes weren't too awful good to begin with. He gets over to where I need the tractor to pull a log out of the woods and he ask me "what's this light on the dash?" I said the parking brake and proceeded to feel my blood pressure boil. I could have throat chopped him, he was the parts manager at a J.D. dealer. I guess because you can look parts up on a computer doesn't mean you can read the dash lights, lol. Sold it several years ago. I don't understand why Deere went away from the "park" on the gear stick. Park is awesome, if you've ever been on a tractor with it.

I've ran my grandfather's CaseIH with the brakes on for a pretty long while. It has a bright light in the dash, and other lights in the dash that flash, but the switch isn't very reliable. It extends to close the circuit, and tends to stick until you clean it out. If it compressed to close the circuit, at leas then the worst case would be that the lights stay on when they're not supposed to. What good is a safety/warning light if the switch isn't reliable? Plus to set the parking brake you pull a hand lever that is completely independent of the foot pedals so you don't notice it. All of our other tractors you set the parking brake by locking the foot pedals down and it's kind of hard not to notice the parking brake is set.

As careful as I am, I finally forgot to release the frikin brake before clearing my drive. Ran about an hour before I discovered it. .... da** !
I just had the tranny fluid changed this fall too. I wish Kubota would have put an idiot light on dash to let you know when the brake was on.
I didn't have it engaged too much, but even that is bad.
Pay more attention next time for sure.

Been there, done that. I wish my john deere had a light to let you know the park brake was engaged, as well.

My Ford has a hand park brake that I use a lot. I learned right after buying the tractor to put the park brake on very firmly. Then you won't drive off with it on. Lesson learned. :)

My NH has an idiot light on the dash. I still try to drive off with the parking brake engaged. Thankfully it is one that has to be set so tight you feel like you are chained to a tree. So I go about 3 feet at most before realizing.

When I first got my Kioti CK2510 HST I drove with the brakes on several times, then I adjusted them and now when the brake is locked on you know it!

I put a red LED on the dash of our B2650, believe it or not their was already a wiring harness for it. Go figure.
