well pump enclosure?

i really thought google would help me come up with something for housing my new well system. But all i can find is fake rocks? Not a bad idea, but is this my only option?

My well head is in the woods...the air tank is in our basement so all I did was go to Wal Mar and buy a Green Poly Garbage can and cut it down and then I wrapped insulation around the PVC Pipe that was coming out of the ground and put the cut down garbage can over it ...since it is hunter green and in the woods , it can't even be seen and it cost about $20.00 including the small amount of insulation I needed...has worked great for 5 yrs. now and it has gotten down to 10 deg..here in the winter..

Well,probably no need to do anything as far as insulation ,if its just your typical well casing sticking up,,the water line is down below freezing,connects with a thing called a pitless adapter,,it won't freeze,,not here in w.v. anyways.

Now if your talking putting your air tank outside,or your not subersable pump,,than you need to insulate it,,little insulated house of some sort,,maybe a light bulb in it..

Man one of the best days of my life was the day I had my well cleaned and drilled deeper and the pitless adapter was installed!:dance1:

I have a new well with a pump which I will remove this fall and store in my shed. The water in my well pipe is only about 11 feet down in the ground here in Minnesota.....and it can get to 30 below, and colder, very easily.

A friend of mine cautioned that the frost could / would follow my steel well-pipe and cause a freeze at the 11 foot depth. He claimed that hanging a garden hose down the inside of the 1 1/2" pipe could eliminate the freeze problem by giving the ice somewhere to "give".....thus saving my well pipe from a freeze / burst.

Anybody give any support to this idea? (I guess it cant hurt to try his method.) I likely will insulate and cover the pipe anyway.

its probably about 30" tall, 30" long, and 20" depth. im just guessing. have to measure next time im there. im in florida. its too hot outside to build one and i dont know how anyway.

i would like to have some kind of nice looking wishing well covering it with a removable top. that would be sweet. i dont know much about my new well except its 77 ft deep, about 40 gpm, and the pump was 1hp, some supposedly good brand name that starts with G has a Tesla motor and was made in italy.

if i was to get some sort of water filtration system, would it be positioned next to this pump? i was curious because that could effect the size enclosure i need. thanks.

I saw one that looked like an out house with the moon on the door and all
till you opened the door no hole just jet pump and pressure tank foam insulation and some old barn boards it look like it was there 100 years.
