I agree with those feelings. They've been in great spirits.
Little Maggie (the one in the wheelchair) is really nothing short of a sunshine to everyone.
Just to give a flavor...
She's born with spinal bifida. She went immediately into surgery so they could fix her back.
She's had more operations on her in her life, than I can even count. One surgery, they had to put some rods in her spine. They went into her from the FRONT to do most of the work. After they stitched up the front, they flipped her over and cut into her BACK. They essentially had her cut in half on her torso, all the way through.
She's had shunts installed (and replaced) from her brain to her stomach. She's got a gastro bag installed so she can relive herself easier now... Through her entire (very hard) life, she's never been bitter, never "why me", never anything other than just a VERY sweet young lady.
Given what she's been through in her life, they've seen, indeed, they've LIVED the "it can always be worse" scenario so the fact that all heads are accounted for and safe is keeping them in MUCH higher spirits than I think I'd been in.
