Well I went to auction and the sickel bar went for over $1000 and I could not even turn the pto with a screw drive. But I did come home with a 10 foot rotary cutter Brush Hog not a batwing. It is a pull type but runs off PTO with Hydralic. Paid $1600, but seems to be in ok shape.

sounds like a nice buy. Those things go for big bucks. Should save you many hours of cutting time.

10 foot? Wow! What a monster. That should be fun to use. Send some pics when you get it hooked up.

What is a "pull type" rotary cutter? I have never heard that term. Being a newbie I have to ask

I think it attaches via the drawbar (like pulling a trailer behind truck) rather than attaching to the 3-pt.

Well Gentlemen,
As soon as I get it home, I will take some pictures. I am not sure my MF 165 will handle this even if I just cut short hay fields but I am going to buy a bigger tractor this fall. It weights at least 2000lbs I would guess. I am trying to get somebody to bring it on a flat bed. I am not sure if my excavator can pickup 2000lbs. IF i can get it on a low trailer I can lift it with excavator
and then have them drive trailer out from under it and set it down without too much swinging. I do not want to tip the excavator over. There is another auction this friday night and they have a Ford 3pt sicklebar mower I am going I hope I do not come home with another tractor!

Hey I see your pictures in your profile. Is that rte 20? What type of retrievers? I've raised pheasants before if you need any help. I'm about 2miles from you cross lot. I'll be running a bandsaw this fall if you need any milling.
