I cc the kahr cw9 on a daily basis. Have not had a problem with it. Of course, I should add that I'm currently carrying the cw9 instead of my kahr p380 because the 380 is back at kahr being repaired. Suffering a broken extractor with less than 400 rounds through a pistol has a way of raising doubts in ones mind about quality of product...and has gotten me thinking that my next purchase might be a wheel gun.

Oh, wow, that is the first I have heard of that. I would think there must have been an unusual defect in that extractor. I have seen chipped extractors in 1911's, but that is a different type of extractor entirely being internal. Usually external extractor's don't give much trouble.

I have a Kahr K9 which is all steel. I personally don't care for polymer and this gun fits my hand perfectly. They are more expensive than polymer framed guns but it is worth it to me. Mine is very reliable and accurate enough for the short distances a carry gun is for.
I found a cheaper practice bullet in the form a of a moly coated lead bullet. This is safe for polygonal rifling and costs less that fmj bullets. I load my own so I don't know if this style is available in a factory load or not but it might be worth looking into.
