Funny you mentioned Preston county. That's where I use to live, the only mobile home in town as a matter of fact /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Although I live in a large house and have land of my own now, living in that mobile home in W.V was one of my most favorite living experiences in my life, and I still stop in and say high to my old neighbors and friends when I'm in the area.

Sigarms,

Eventhough the song. "Country Roads ..." Is pretty much the theme song for every Wv sporting event and the unofficial state song. It is actually a song about Western Virginia.. ( sad but true )
John Denver was actually singing about the Shanandoh River and Blue ridge Mountains which are mostly in Western Virginia. Although the river runs through a tiny portion of Wv it mostly runs through Virginia.
I know, this sucks, Lets just declare it the Wv. song and leave it at that. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

The governer now wants to "Open for business" on the license plates. 

Makes me wonder where these guys in power got their heads stuck most of the time... /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

In PA, the license plates USED to say:

"You've got a friend in Pennsylvania"

Now?

"WWW.State.Pa.US"

Everytime I see a plate I can't help but think:

"Pretty cool how us bumpkins from PA are showing the rest of the country how 21st century we are..."

I do like the conservation plate I have now though:

Hope WV stays open for business AND shows some imagination...

What ever happened to "Don't fix it if it ain't broke?"

Hope you guys manage to stay Wild and Wonderful and don't change to "Boring and Open for Business..."

I still like the New Hampshire state motto which is on license plates, "Live Free or Die".

Getting off the subject like I do so well, heck I remember when it was the "the Keystone state".

Could never figure that out about Pa and thier license plates. You have the "generic" one, one with a tiger on it (in Pa!??), one with an old ship, one with an otter, one black one with DARE on it and probably some more that I'm forgetting about.

How many different license plates does a state need to have!?

With Mass., N.Y (AKA Albany), Ct. and Vermont with Dean "around" N.H, I figure that N.H will have to change that very politically incorrect license plate some time in the future /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif (although I hope they don't).

Does any state have the motto "don't tread on me"? That's where I may want to move /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think I've mentioned this before, but in all our travels as full time RVers in some part of every state but California and Hawaii, sometimes just as tourists, sometimes working doing gas leakage surveys, the overall friendliest, nicest people for a whole community was Sayre, PA, and surrounding area.
