I am looking to get a different tractor. I am looking at probably getting a 2210. I thought about getting a 2220, because it is heavier, but then I read it has wet brakes. Hmmm, I have had dry brakes on everything I have ever owned and can work on them. So I guess the wet ones makes the 2220 a no, no. As I would have no idea what to do with them if I got a problem. How does the rest of you guys feel about wet brakes? Wouldn't that be more of a problem? Thanks

The fluid brakes are the only way to go. You couldn't get me to buy a new tractor without them.

Pruntyc ,that's news to me. I didn't know any of the ym's had wet brakes. Does this mod. also have 2 stage clutch ? I have friends that have newer tractors with wet brakes & they say they are great.

No way I'd go with 'dry' brakes. The wet ones are the way to go. Don't need to work on them like the dry ones. You can ride a wet brake all day long and it won't get hot or lose their grip. The oil keeps 'em cool. They first wet ones (to the best of my knowledge) showed up on tractors in the late 50's early 60's.

No they don't have a two stage clutch, as they have power shift, and you don't need to use the clutch, so the PTO keeps working. I understand the 20's have wet brakes and the 10's have dry. I don't know as the brakes would ever get hot on a tractor, as I don't know when anyone would be using them that much.

The YMxx02 and YMxx20 series both have wet brakes. One powershift and the other standard.

Thanks Robert, but she won't get better, unless God does it, as its terminal. She has pulmonary hypertension, and a very enlarged heart. With the pressure in the heart about as high as it can go. But God has helped her so far, so I just pray he will keep it up. As I don't know what I would do without her, as we have been married 35 years.

Pruntyc, sounds like shes and the right hands, God and yours, lost my dad to cancer about 10 years ago, that was very hard on me, I just can't even think how hard it would be to lose a spouse after 35 years, may God be with you both. Robert
