The word that identified the reason that happened was "his". That is what jack donkeys do. And, that is how they kill predators along with stomping on them. Jacks are good only for breeding. They are NOT good guard animals. :2cents:

He was a young gelding that I had recently bought at an auction. Both he and the goats were in a pen around the barn; less than a quarter acre in size. And he could see and hear 4 donkeys in a neighbor's pasture a couple of thousand feet away. So he was walking up and down the fence like a caged animal wanting to get to those other donkeys.

Our horses and goats are great together. One person said that if the horse aggressively chases dogs away, that horse likely won't like the goats. Our horse put up with the dogs so we gave it a try. The dominate horse loves the goats and even lets them eat her hey.
