I like my siphon hose. At the end of snowsledding season I park my Ranger next to the company truck with the sled in back and drain it from one tank to another. No spilling while trying to line up the spout with the tank, draining it without scratching the tractor paint. the only downside is that it's slower than that 1 1/4' nozzle on Oosik's Gerry cans so I have to watch for that guy on the ridge.

Well lets see, mine came with a 12 Volt cooler;
wish the radio had Bluetooth;
a good place for a tool box would be the most important to me;
be nice if at least one of my rear remotes could be operated from the rear, 3 pt is be nice for the remotes;
on mine and many other tractors they seem to have hidden the oil dipsticks, especially when a loader frame is added on;
more gauges in addition to the idiot lights and a loud beeper to go with the lights, no shutdowns, have those on the CIH Magnums, steep hills heavy loads, NOT good;
an over ride for the manifold heater "glow plugs" when a block heater is plugged in;
more plugged access ports to run wiring into or out of the cab, lights, camera, or ;
easier access to cab roof and walls for wiring;

YES, every tractor should have a switch on the back to run the 3PH from the ground. Expensive if it's not already electronic though.

Most stuff around here is Diesel. One weekend I needed gasoline badly and tried siphoning from a Honda Fit.. That miserly car wouldn't give us a drop!

Buy tractor with cab and some of these issues are solved but not all. I find chain stored under tractor seat is best area for me. One tractor (one with cab) seat is open where a chain stores real well. It also has storage areas due to cab. As to fuel tanks, really you need a fuel pump if you have a tractor or you need fuel delivered to a raised tank.

I wish all tractors came with at least one remote hyd setup. Too many uses if you had it Could have a hyd post hole digger and could reverse it if jammed for one.

I was shocked to learn the FEL and BH were quick detach! I never would have dared to dream such a thing. I want simpler to diagnose and repair. No service manuals online? No code reader? Are they serious? I have already started looking for a fourteen year old to jailbreak it for me. Can a tractor run Linux?

Chain and small tools used to be at your feet against the seat and fender. Skid plates? Stuff used to tough and, besides, welding or drilling holes was not any big thing.

I think there is enough room under most models for a combination toolbox/skidplate. Would it kill em to put some threaded holes in the ROPS? I don't need the thing to fold! A couple front and rear hydraulic points would be cheaper from the factory. Some electrical switches built into the hand control or steering wheel would be useful. Longer service intervals. Easier maintenance. How about some picatinny rail, L track, a grid of pems, or spring loaded detents? Dzus fasteners or some tool less latches from ITW are quick. The removable seat mounts from a mini van are a cool idea. Scatter a dozen of them around the tractor.

What I need today may not be useful tomorrow or for the next owner.

It does seem that machines for the European market are much more feature rich and they give us the bare minimum and charge for any extras at all. I bet they would charge $40.00 for a $4.00 cigarette lighter outlet. Heck, probably $140.00!

Capitalism at its best!

I much prefer it that way than to pay for extras as standard equipment that I would not have a need for or want.

On just about any CUT or SCUT...More than anything else the most coveted addition IMO would be either a "buddy seat" or a "buddy station"...the latter being some sort extendable standing platform with a handhold...

Anything would be better/safer than standing on a box blade etc. and holding onto the ROPS...!

The way I look at it, I knew of the features that I’m getting from the tractor and what it doesn’t have, I can customize it exactly the way I want it to suit my needs.

The primary things that I have no control of that would help (and should be standard) are complete owners & service manuals, easy to service components (like that radiator screen), and installing attachment points throughout the tractor for hooks, accessories, lights, etc. (My fuel filler on the side was well thought out so big kudos for that.)

I wouldn’t mind if there’s an accessory catalogue for add-ons that one can buy & install with hand tools. Not everyone wants a chainsaw holder or extra lights if they never use it at night.

Besides, if everything about tractors was perfect and to our satisfaction, TBN wouldn’t be around!

GirlWhoWantsTractor - - hey, lifting 5 gallon jerry cans full of diesel builds muscle and character - so I'm told. I've also been told I'm already quite a character.

But you are VERY correct. One of these days as I lift and hold one of my jerry cans up to fill - - something serious is going to happen. I just hope I find an alternate BEFORE it happens.

:) I have all the character I need, maybe too much. :)

I actually can't quite lift it up there. Need to get some smaller cans for sure.
