What 50's era car would you want to have?

I think the Edsel got canned because by 1960 it had gotten too attractive!

For me, the 1955-56 Imperial is serious eye candy. :drool:
Hadn't grown fins yet.

I had a ford convertable 51, 50 or 51 chev 5 window pick up, a 53 chevy 2 door sdn, with a 54 olds engine and a cad/lasalle standard trans. during high school I built up several nice drivers. Then a 57 pontiac 2 dr hard top(catalina) a 58 pontiac std trans, and a 60 pontiac std trans w/tri power. Later I got a 55 ford pickup, and a 49 merc 2 dr, a 46 ford pickup w/a55buick engine. It is hard to remember all of them, but I was a true car nut. Lately been looking for another 51 ford convertable.

When I graduated from high school in 1958, I had a 1956 Mercury Montclair convertible, but one of the guys had a 1940 Ford coupe with a 1950 Olds V-8 engine. Of course he didn't rotate tires and that old Ford didn't have positrac, so he sure wore out the right rear tire in a hurry.:laughing:

your montclaire convert was my fav car of all time----i have a 64 vette convert but the merc is what i lust for------oh well
