Yep 16 years and still going strong!! Met her over a home cooked meal/blind date. Never looked back /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Built a 10 x 14 sugar house was going to wait a year to buy the evaporator. She told me I needed a new bigger evaportor to but in my sugar house. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Works right along side me with what ever I'm doing and looks a hell of alot better then I do. I wrote her a poem one time. The last sentence says it all: God made you a women for me. That says it all!!
Take care

OK, we're destroying the myth that men don't express their feelings /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif...

Had to jump in, though. It is really nice to hear that in this day and age of failing relationships that so many people have found lasting happiness with someone they care about and hold the same type of values with. I have, as well, and I thank God every day for the wonderful life that I have.

Congratulations to you all that you've found wonderful people and that you appreciate what you have. Great to be on a forum that expresses that kind of thing once in a while (but we can't do it too often or word might get out /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif).

Yep, Chris, I agree. I've only been married to my wife about 38.5 years, but sure wouldn't want to lose her. And as we get older, I guess we think more about that possiblity. One of my wife's brothers has been married to his wife 45 years and she has cancer and isn't likely to live another year (they told her 3 years ago to expect 6 months to 2 years). Her only sister has been married to her husband over 40 years, he has cancer and isn't expected to live more than a few months. And my wife is scheduled for surgery Thursday for breast cancer, but at least the doctors have told us that if you're going to have a cancer, hers is the best kind and was caught very early; near 100% cure rate, so naturally, I sure hope so.

Newleywed, huh Bird? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Like I said, I really appreciate being able to interact with folks who've walked the walk and that I try to emulate.

OK, I'll add my two cents to keep this worthwhile thread alive:

I knew I loved Renee' when we dated, but it was confirmed to the Nth when she quickly agreed to go horse back riding and fly fishing in the Tetons for our honeymoon! She loves our mountain farm as much as I do and is handy with tools.

I could go on and on, but suffice to say that not only can she hold her own all day working in the hot sun weeding the orchard or garden like three coolies, but she also manages to be an incredible designer/business person, ranked tennis player, great mother, incredible cook, world class entertainer and still manages to find time to exercise and keep up with her nails, hair, skin, etc.

Count me as one of the luckiest ones....

Sabi

After raising 4.8 kids, and a whole bunch of years, I am still breathin' ain't I? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

A mere 28.5 years for me. She mows, plants trees and likes to garden. The only time she brush hogged, she hit a tree and tore up the canopy on my 2710, so I can't get her on the tractor anymore.

Alan, now the cost of that freedom, and non-competition for tractor time wasn't TOO expensive, was it? /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
Myself, (I didn't know it at the time) my freedom and control of the pocketbook went out the window the moment the little lady said "I DO"! Somehow, she took that as she does, and I don't! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
