What animal used to be the owner of this foot?

I have a friend that lives in Vermont. He told me of a time when he was raising Turkeys and a fisher got to liking the taste. Took him a while, but he was finally able to shoot it at night under the little hut he had his turkeys in. Neat animals, though. I kind of like the mean ones. Badgers, wolverines, weasels, etc... tough critters, for sure.

I agree it's from a Fisher. We have them here and although you don't see them often I have seen them crossing our trail as well as one that had been trapped.

I would agree it could be something in the Wolverine family. Are the feet webbed? Maybe it is a beaver hind foot - Just thinking outloud.

If that is a fisher or wolverine, I wouldn't be so concerned about what used to own the leg as much as what animal did that to him. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

it could be the two listed above, does not look like coon but it is hard to judge the size from the photo. wolverens are pretty mean though and will run many many miles a day hunting usually for rabbit sized meals on down. cats chickens and such fit the meal ticket very well as does dogs of just about any size under 100lbs! like I said very mean! lol. none of them around here but sure love to read when I was a kid and watch discovery chnl every chance I get (if the woman is not nagging me to watch some soap stuff ech /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif )
