Yes, inexpensive. Mine worked great until the 4220 (receiver with transmitter) went flaky. Then I bought a pair of the simple EOP units (receive via house wiring, output is an Ethernet socket) to get going again as described above. The extra receiver now feeds an ethernet-only Laserjet that I was able to move to a more convenient location.EOP, yes, you need one each end and you have to link them which is a simple process of just pressing the link button on one, running like fury to get to the other within 30 seconds and doing it also, we ran three receivers although they are all the same units that talk to each other, there was no specific module at the modem end, just four units, plus side they were not expensive, Think I paid ABOUT au$60 FOR THE 4.
You don't need to run to the far end of the house to press the button and 'introduce' the new EOP unit into the system. I bring each of what will be a peripheral unit and plug it temporarily into the same outlet as the host unit, then press the button to tell it to introduce itself. Then carry the peripheral unit to its remote location. It doesn't forget it is still part of the family.
