YANMAR is made in Japan and is no way a
chinese made JD as Yanmar made John Deere
tractors for over 20 years and now they make
tractors with their own name. You will find that
over 75 different tractors are using the Yanmar
diesel engines you will also find them in a lot of
construction equipment, generators, boats, ships
etc. I really like my Yanmar tractor it takes a whole
hour to burn 1 gallon of diesel not bad for a 34 hp
tractor wonder how many other tractors can say
this????

Iman I do believe we are talking small tractors
like under 40 hp. Because most people on here
have under 20 acres????

Iman maybe you want something like these???

Can't speak about new tractors, but I much prefer the old ford/new hollands and fergusons simply because they're old and most parts are pretty readily available in aftermarket parts. I'm not real familiar with deere or kubota. I do know I would never buy a brand that has only been building tractors for a few years. I made the mistae of buying a small mitsubishi once. Thought, it's mitsubishi, how hard can it be to get parts for. It was pretty much impossible to get parts for. I'll stick with brands I now will be around for a while.

I'll bet there are a lot more stories though, about older tractors which don't start, won't move, the 3pth won't work,...
There are only so many older used tractors out there, and every one of them is getting even older, most are getting more used.
Yes there are a lot more stories pertaining to older tractors. But at least once my JD 4255 engine is operating I could if I so desired disconnect the batteries & it will keep operating/moving with gear selection & hyd's operable

If that's what is important to you... I prefer to start it and use it. When this tractor starts nickel and diming me in repairs, I will trade for a newer one. I also have my father's old TO35 which I plan to bring home someday. Right now it's in the barn where he left it, I was trying to get it usable but after replacing the fuel shutoff, lines, and carburetor I found out as I was dumping gas into it that the petcock didn't shut off and the float needs adjusting. I got so discouraged we dragged it back into the barn and it hasn't moved in 2 years.
If I wanted to rebuild a carb I would/should have done the old one.

Can't say much about most of those brands, as I have no experience with any of them. However, this one has been pretty reliable: My grandfather's Case SC, 70 years old, and still able to do a full day's work. Sure, it's had new sleeve kits put into it four times, the head's been replaced, hydraulic pump rebuilt, rear axle bearings replaced, front spindle replaced, 12-volt conversion done, a new rear rim, about 8 starters, clutch plate, rebuilt carburetor, etc. but that doesn't mean it isn't reliable. Hey, stuff happens...
Well, I look for the ones that stuff doesn't happen to, and constant rebuilds and service... as you can find them...but have to check long and hard to find them...and do careful research and check over stats and comparisons..
I'm 3 years older than that tractor, and it's put in more hours of work than I have. For several years, about half its life, it was the main tractor on the farm. If a tractor is used, things wear out, and this tractor has been used. Plenty.

The only way you'll have one that "stuff doesn't happen to" is to have it spend all its time in the barn - and even that will make it fall apart from NOT being used.

When/If you get back to it you'll probably find out more stuff has gone bad, simply because it's spent the last two years in the barn, unused.

I was looking at the best of tractors, and I came across this list as the most reliable tractors in North America..

1. John Deere

2. New Holland

3. Case IH

4. Kubota

5. Massey Ferguson

6. Fendt

7. Claas

Is this list correct or is Kubota better than John Deere or on par, and why are Case and New Holland even up there. And what happened to all the others, like Mahindra, Sonalika, etc.. or are these listed the best tractors.
To the best of my knowledge, at least for the last few years, New Holland and Case come off the same production line. One is painted blue and the other red.
